LORAINE SOMERVILLE

It is with great sadness the family of Loraine Somerville announces her passing on Saturday, April 8, 2006.
Born in Fort Frances, Ont. to Walter and Yvonne Green on May 19, 1932, Loraine spent her early childhood in Flanders, Ont. and spoke of it often.
As a young girl, she moved with her family to Fort Frances, Ont., where she spent the rest of her life.
On Nov. 5, 1950, she married her husband, Jack, and together they raised their three daughters, Lynda, Laurie, and Penny. After her family was raised, she enjoyed working for the Fort Frances Parks Board until her retirement in 1997.
Mom dedicated her life to her family, taking an active part in the lives of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved and cherished them all but had a very special relationship with her great-grandson, Dallas.
With Mom, family was always first and we felt it every day.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory her husband, Jack; and daughters, Lynda Clinker (Ernie), Laurie Cole (Mike Pearson), and Penny Maki.
Mom also is survived by her grandchildren, Candace Cole, Stephen Clinker, Amanda Dent, Christopher Maki, Trevor Clinker, Jennifer Maki, and Jacob Fiesell; and great-grandchildren, Joseph, Bryanna, Dallas, Taylor, Kenya, Jesse, Connor, Jack, Joshua, and Liam.
She was looking forward to welcoming two new babies, Issiah, in a few weeks, as well as another great-grandchild in the fall.
Also surviving are her sisters, Shirley Card, Nancy Gladu, and Jo-Ann Gushulak; brother, Michael Green; special aunt, Dorothy McNabb; sister-in-law, Rosemarie Green; and many nieces and nephews.
Mom was predeceased by her parents, Walter and Yvonne Green; brother, Bob Green; and stepfather, John (”Swede”) Person.
A funeral mass will be celebrated in her honour at St. Mary’s Church in Fort Frances on Tuesday, April 11, 2006 at 11 a.m.
Honourary pallbearers will be her special friends, Loneta Robertson, May Matheson, Lois Medhurst, Fay Gasparini, and Maxine Inkster.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in her memory to Tamarack Lodge, 981 Oliver Rd., Thunder Bay, Ont., P7B 7C7.
