LONNY MORRISSEAU

It is with profound sadness the family announce the passing of Lonny Morrisseau at Riverside Healthcare Facility on Monday, December 30, 2024. Lonny was born on April 5, 1980, to Richard and Lillian (Tom) in Fort Frances, Ontario.

Lonny spend most of his life on Couchiching First Nation and attended school in Fort Frances and at Seven Generation Education Institute.

Lonny was a self taught carpenter and plumber where he would help family out when things needed to be done. He liked to help out his gramma Weezie with making jingles for her dresses. He loved to listen to her stories that she told while they worked. In his younger days he enjoyed playing hockey, baseball, and swimming with his family and friends.

In 2012 Lonny welcomed his daughter Lillia, a year later he welcomed Lonaya, and his son Ricky was born in 2014. Besides his children Lillia, Lonaya, and Ricky, he is also survived by his father Richard; brother Matthew (Kristen); and his niece Philly-Ann. He is pre-deceased by his mother Phyllis; brother Ricky; grandparents Harry and Louise Morrisseau, Bill and Kathy Glover, and Phillip Tom; aunts Alfreda Kearney; uncles Allan Morrisseau, Doug Morrisseau, and Gary Glover; his nephew Baby Boy Morrisseau; and his cousins Kelly Rae Morrisseau, Janell Morrisseau, Michelle Morrisseau, and Michael Kearney.

Pallbearers will be Anthony Morrisseau, Harry J. Morrisseau, Dale Morrisseau, Logan Morrisseau, Kevin Singleton, Kevin Yerxa. Honourary pallbearers will be Jenn Morrisseau, Jamie-Lynn Morrisseau, Darlene Morrisseau, Pamela Ross, Laura Spence, and his children Lillia, Lonaya, and Ricky.

A wake will be held on Thursday, January 9, 2025, starting at 6:00 p.m. at the Couchiching Multi-Use Facility. Funeral will be held on Friday, January 10 at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes Church followed by a luncheon in the basement of the church.
