Lloyd was predeceased by his parents, Joe and Lydia Degelman; brother, Donald Degelman; and his wife of 55 years, Karen Degelman (Gagne).
Lloyd is survived by his sisters, Beatrice Blackwell of Lynnwood, Wash. and Carolyn “Sue” Cameron (Ray) of Fort Frances, Ont.; his children, Laurie McTaggart (Gordon) of Kenora, Ont., Lloyd Degelman Jr. (Rose) of Spokane, Wash., and Cara Degelman of Montreal Que.; grandchildren, Craig McTaggart of Calgary, Alta., Allyson McTaggart (Jay Erskine) of Kenora, Ont., Daniel Bryce Degelman (Kira) of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, and Alexa Kadikoff of Fort Frances, Ont.; and great-grandchildren, Parker and Riley Degelman of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho.
Lloyd worked for more than 30 successful years with Bell Canada as a service technician. He enjoyed spending his time with family and friends at the cabin on Footprint Lake, and working on his hobbies building model airplanes and ships.
He loved to be outdoors so you always could find him tinkering around the yard with his garden and swimming pool.
Lloyd loved talking to people and making new friends everywhere he went. He had a kind voice that always made you feel comfortable talking to him.
He had a vast knowledge so you always could turn to him for coming up with a solution over a cup of coffee.
Lloyd truly will be missed by those he has touched.
Cremation has taken place, and a celebration of life for both Lloyd and Karen Degelman will follow this summer.
In memoriam donations can be made in Lloyd’s name to the Riverside Foundation for Health Care, 110 Victoria Ave., Fort Frances, Ont., P9A 1B7.
