LINDA JOYCE STARLING

It is with great sadness from family and friends to announce the sudden passing of Linda Joyce Starling (nee Rose) on Saturday, Feb. 14, 2009 at the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre in Thunder Bay, Ont. after fighting a courageous and lengthy battle with Aplastic Anemia.
She was born April 14, 1955 in Fort Frances, Ont. to the late John and Olga Rose.
Linda leaves to mourn her husband of 29 years, David George Starling; four sons, Kristopher (Shannon), David (Stephanie), Tyler, and Blake; and two grandchildren, Sydney (Kristopher) and Grady (David).
She also leaves behind her siblings, James (Charlotte), Edwin (Valorie), Mervyn (Laurie), Maureen, Carol, and Kathryn (Arnold); many nieces and nephews dear to her heart; and in-laws, Bob Starling, Mary and Dave McFee, and Kathy Rose.
Linda was predeceased by her parents, John and Olga Rose; siblings, Lawrence and Donald; infant sister, Doreen; and in-laws, Cyril and Ruth Starling.
Linda and David married May 26, 1979 at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church in Fort Frances. In 1982, they were blessed with the first of their sons, Kristopher, followed by David in 1984, Tyler in 1986, and Blake in 1987. She cared for her family with all of her being, and took great pride in her many flower gardens.
Her dogs meant as much to her as her children did. Her face lit up at the announcement of her grandchildren, and made sure she did everything she could to spoil them every chance she got.
Her perseverance, courage, and smiles through her health battle inspired many, and she will forever be missed and never forgotten.
Funeral services will be held Friday, Feb. 20, 2009 at 11 a.m. at Green Funeral Home in Fort Frances, with Rev. Eileen Bragg officiating.
A luncheon will follow at the Royal Canadian Legion Br. #29 in Fort Frances.
Interment will take place in Burriss Cemetery in Burriss, Ont. at a later date.
Visitation will be held Thursday, Feb. 19, 2009 from 7-8:30 p.m. at Green Funeral Home in Fort Frances.
The honourary pallbearers will be her niece and nephews, Cassandra McLellan, Scott Rose, Merv Rose, Tom Rose, Tristyn Rose, Matthew McLellan, Jason Rose, Justin Rose, Brian Rose, Michael Rose, and Paul Noble.
