In loving memory of Lillian Copenace (nee Cochrane), 67, of Seine River First Nation, who passed away Thursday, Oct. 30, 2014 in the comfort of her home surrounded by her loved ones.
Lillian is survived by her loving spouse, John Spoon Sr.; her children, Judy Ann Copenace, Edna Jane Copenace, Delbert Copenace (wife, Marilyn Landon), Victor Andrew Copenace, Janet Cynthia Spoon, Marcella Spoon, and Joanie Spoon; stepchildren, Jennifer Spoon, John Spoon Jr., and Jackie Spoon; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She also leaves behind her siblings, Albert Cochrane Jr., Lila Boshkaykin, Mary Louise Vivier, and Josephine Geyshick; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Lillian was predeceased by her parents, Albert Cochrane Sr. and Mary Black; husband, Daniel Copenace of Big Grassy First Nation; son, Steven Copenace; and siblings, Elsie Cupp, Frances Tom, Harvey Cochrane, Sally Cochrane, Melvin Cochrane, Alvina Cochrane, Isabel Cochrane, and Wesley Cochrane.
Lillian was born Dec. 1, 1946 in Emo, Ont. Her favourite pastimes were playing Bingo, baking, and spending time with her children and grandchildren.
She especially cherished her time with Janet Lillian Cynthia Spoon and Jeremiah Potson.
She also liked listening to classic country music and loved going fishing.
A wake was held Sunday, Nov. 2, 2014 at the family home in Seine River First Nation.
Burial was held Monday, Nov. 3, 2014 in Crilly Cemetery in Seine River First Nation.
The pallbearers were Lillian’s family and friends.
The honourary pallbearers were John Spoon Sr., Albert Cochrane Jr., Lila Boshkaykin, Mary Vivier, Lorna Cochrane, Judy Copenace, Edna Copenace, Janet C. Spoon, Marcella Spoon, Joanie Spoon, Janet L. Spoon, and Jeremiah Potson.
