The family of Lila Boshkaykin announce her peaceful passing on April 27, 2026 at La Verendrye Hospital in Fort Frances, ON.
Lila was born in Emo, Ontario on December 6, 1952 to Mary Black and Albert Cochrane Sr.
Left to cherish in her memory are her two children Nate, Tina and her nieces Janet(Jeff) Jolin (Kenny) and grandchildren Janet Jr.(Javiner) Blade (Rowlette), Omega, Seannah, Lucas, Bryces, Kingston, Lily, Great grandchildren Desirae and Redd.
She was predeceased by parents Mary and Albert Sr. and her beloved daughter Mildred Harper and also her many brothers and sisters especially Elsie, Lillian and Mary.
Lila loved to play bingo and spending time with her family. She also loved to travel the pow wow trail whenever she could. Her life was spent loving all her grandbabies. Every summer she would go out in the bush to pick blueberries with her nieces. She also looked forward to her weekly phone calls and chats with her best friend Emma Boshkaykin. Her daily calls with her brother Albert Jr. were one of her many rituals.
Lila was such a fan of the WWE that she could tell you what year any wrestler was in their prime. She also played crib with Nate all the time being the Champ most of time.
A wake was held to celebrate Lila’s life at Seine River gym starting at 4 p.m. on Friday May 1st, 2026 with services following on Saturday, May 2nd, 2026. Burial was held at Crilly cemetery later that day.
