LESLIE CLARE ‘LES’ PATTISON

Leslie Clare “Les” Pattison, 70, of Fort Frances, Ont., passed away following a brief illness with cancer Friday, Jan. 5, 2001 at La Verendrye General Hospital in Fort Frances.
He was born Aug. 28, 1930 in Fort Frances to the late Donald and Marion Pattison.
Les lived all of his life in Fort Frances, and had worked at the local pulp and paper mill for 38 years. He worked in various areas of the mill, and retired as the Finishing and Shipping Superintendent on March 31, 1985.
Les shared a very special and close bond with Norma, and they spent all of their time together. He treasured their many family gatherings, and was proud of all his children and grandchildren. All of his children live in Fort Frances and not a day went by that one of them didn’t stop by to visit.
He also developed many friendships with his west end neighbours over the years.
Les took great care and pride in maintaining his family home and yard. People quite frequently stopped by to admire his efforts. He enjoyed many wonderful years at their cabin with Norma, their children, and grandchildren. He never missed an opportunity to share his “8 track” music collection with his grandchildren.
For the last several years, Les and Norma wintered in Florida, where they developed many close friendships. This certainly was evident when Bob and Vivian Rall flew in from Florida to be here with Les and Norma during his final days.
Les was united in marriage Sept. 12, 1953 to the former Norma Stephanson, who survives along with their children, Bev Steele (Tom) and their children, Bob and Paul, Wayne Pattison (Kathy) and their children, Jennifer, Heather, and Michelle, Patti Boileau (Richard) and their children, Marina, Andrea, and Steven, Rodney Pattison (Diane) and their children, Gary and Jason, and Randy Pattison (Debbie) and their children, Ashley, Chris, Jason, and Dylan.
Also surviving is his sister, Helen Wekner (Alvin); sister-in-law, Jackie Dalgetty; nephews, Brad Wekner, and Guy and Lorne Dalgetty and nieces, Joanne Sanders and Carolyn Skirten, and their families.
He was predeceased by his father, Donald Pattison; his mother and step-father, Marion and Gino Ortolan; mother and father-in-law, Jean and Steve Stephanson; and brother-in-law, Keith Dalgetty.
We will miss you and love you always.
