LEONARD PATRICK JORDENS

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Leonard Jordens.
Dad was carried home in the arms of Jesus on Tuesday, Oct. 18, 2011 with family by his side.
Leonard was born Oct. 5, 1927 to Joseph and Julia Jordens in Saskatoon, Sask.
In 1951, Leonard married Mary Decelles in St. Hubert, Sask. In 1953, Mary and Leonard left their beloved Saskatchewan and created a new life in Rainy River district.
Dad and Mom will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary on Tuesday, Oct 2, 2011.
Besides Mary, Leonard is survived by seven children, Ellen Peterson of Calgary, Alta., Linda (Peter) York of Fort Frances, Ont., Doug (Laura) Jordens of Dryden, Ont., Don (Margo) Jordens of Esterhazy, Sask., Brenda (Murnie) Allen of Fort Frances, Ont., Maryanne Jordens of New Orleans, La., and Carolyn (Keith) Cuyler of Dryden, Ont.; 15 grandchildren, Angie and John Peterson, Stephen, Michael, and Alyssa York, Chanda (Alex) McAuley, Johlen, Darian, and Justin Jordens, Kelyn and Rylan Jordens, Logan Allen, Bill (Dawn) Mann, and Jenna and Dylan Cuyler; and four great-grandchildren, Mary and Izabel Peterson, Cameron Mann, and Taylor Robert-Shaw.
Leonard also is survived by five siblings, Jean Decelle (Gabriel), Eileen Gatin, Joe Jordens (Patti), Hilary Jordens, and Angela (Ed) Mihalicz; and brother-in-law, Leonard Gerhardt.
Leonard was pre-deceased by his parents, Joe and Julia Jordens; and his beloved sister, Loretta Gerhardt.
Visitation was held Friday, Oct. 21, 2011 from 6-7 p.m. at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Emo, Ont., with prayers following at 7 p.m.
Funeral mass was held Saturday, October 22, 2011 at 11 a.m. at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, with Fr. Alan Albao as celebrant.
Interment took place in the Emo Cemetery.
The pallbearers and honourary pallbearers were all of Leonard’s grandchildren.
