Lelah June Cone, 93, of Grandview Nursing Home in Thunder Bay, Ont., passed away at her residence March 15, 2002.
Lelah was born June 5, 1908 in Peru, Ind. Lelah, her parents, four brothers, and three sisters immigrated to Canada in 1917.
Lelah met and married Russell Cone Sr. in December, 1926 in Fort Frances, Ont., then moved to Mine Centre, Ont., where they spent most of their married life.
Her main interests were her family.
She is survived by her sons, Kenneth (Marvelle) of Mine Centre, Ont., and Russell (Helen) of Fort Frances, Ont.; daughter, Gwen (Cecil) Saville of Thunder Bay, Ont.; eight grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
One sister, Rose Bell (Fort Frances, Ont.), and one brother, Ed McWilliams (Maple Ridge, B.C.) also survive; along with many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, Russell, on May 18, 1977.
Cremation took place in Thunder Bay.
A celebration of her life will be held Saturday, April 13, 2002 from 2-5 p.m. at the Ukrainian Hall, 809 McKenzie Ave., Fort Frances, Ont.
