LEA QUIBELL

Lea Quibell passed away peacefully Sunday, Jan. 13, 2013 at Rainycrest Long-Term Care in Fort Frances, Ont. at the age of 90.
She was predeceased by the love of her life and husband of 70 years, Allan.
Lea was born Oct. 17, 1922 in Vassar, Man. to the late Antoine and Delina Levesque. She was one of 13 children and is survived by her brother, Romeo.
On April 15, 1940, she was united in marriage to Allan Quibell and together they had four children.
Lea will be lovingly remembered by her daughters, Joan Adolfson, Dale Boyd (Don), and Carol Pratt (George) and son, Terry Quibell (Dorothy); grandchildren, Carrie (Fern), Dawn (Jason), Brent, Blain (Jill), Michael (Linda), Marty (Yumi), Allen (Renee), Tyson (Talissyn), and Kelsey; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Lea was known for her gardening and cooking abilities. She touched the hearts of many when she shared the produce she harvested and special recipes she baked.
For many years, she was a stay-at-home mom. Then as her children became older, she supported her husband, Allan, in a variety of jobs. She would cook, clean, and do the books when they ran their tourist camp, as well as deliver frozen food, chips, and ice cream to the local stores in Rainy River.
Lea was a longtime member of the Ladies’ Auxiliary of the Rainy River Legion Br. #54.
In her leisure time, she enjoyed gardening, cooking, fishing, curling, walking, and the special times with her family at the cabin on Lake of the Woods.
Cremation has taken place. At Lea’s request, a private family service will be held at a later date.
