Lawrence Delmar Loney, of Emo, Ont., passed away Sunday, Oct. 19, 2014 at the age of 80; reunited with his best friend and lifelong love, Gloria.
He leaves to cherish his memory his son, David of Edmonton, Alta.; daughter, Lisa (Brennin Chamberlin) of Emo, Ont.; sister, Judy (Fred) Klug; brothers, Dave (Janet) and William (Julie); as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and special friends.
He was predeceased by his wife, Gloria Olive Gustafson Loney, on Sept. 27, 1998; and by his parents, Lawrence and Grace Loney.
Larry was born Sept. 17, 1934 in Emo and married Gloria Gustafson on Sept. 19, 1958.
He received his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Manitoba in 1959. The majority of his working life was spent as manager of Western Co-op Fertilizers and in the position of safety advisor for Canadian Fertilizers Ltd. in Medicine Hat, Alta.
In May, 1997, he retired to spend more time with his spouse and family.
He will be remembered for his sense of humor, and love of the Toronto Blue Jays, crossword puzzles, and chocolate.
Funeral services will be held Friday, Oct. 24, 2014 at 2 p.m. at Knox United Church in Emo, with Rev. Frances Flook officiating.
