LAURENT (LARRY) SMITS

With deep sadness, we announce the peaceful passing of Laurent (Larry) Smits, 87, on Friday, Sept. 22, 2017 in Edmonton, Alta.
He was born on Jan. 15, 1930.
Larry was pre-deceased by his wife, Doris (Hansen); parents, Harry and Anna; brother, Harry; sister, Jeanne Belanger; brothers-in-law, Vic Belanger and Ike Balcewich; sister-in-law, Lorraine; and daughter-in-law, Shirley.
Larry leaves to mourn his children, Robert (Linda), Debbie Stewart (Ron), Priscilla Pouliot (Larry), Wayne (Laurie), Glenda Boughton (Robert), and Dennis (Kim); daughter-in-law, Elizabeth; 14 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.
He also is survived by his siblings, Laura Dillon (Jack), Marie Cunningham (Clifford), John (Juliette), Frances Anderson (Ross), Anna Busch (Lyle), Leona Rucker (Gerald), Jose Balcewich, and Edith Funk (Kenneth); along with numerous nephews, nieces, and many dear friends.
A celebration of Larry’s life will be held at a future date.
