Laura Irvine Mose, of Rainycrest Home for the Aged, Fort Frances, Ont. (and formerly of 1658 Col. Rd. W.), passed away peacefully at her residence on Saturday, March 9, 2002.
Laura was born in Ireland on June 1, 1911. She immigrated to Canada with her parents and siblings in March, 1912. The family homesteaded in Carpenter Township.
She was united in marriage to Percy Edward Mose on June 1, 1938. Together they farmed in Carpenter Township until their retirement in September, 1970 when they moved to Fort Frances. Percy predeceased her on July 2, 1978.
She moved into Rainycrest in September, 1995 and resided there since.
Laura was also predeceased by her parents, Henry and Mary Robinson; by all eight of her siblings; brothers, Henry, Richard, George and Benjamin Robinson; and sisters, Ethel McAllister, Blanche Robertson, Anna Fox and Charolette Morken; two nieces, Winnifred Carpenter and Charolette Edge; and one nephew, Donald Morken.
She will be sadly missed by her only daughter, Karen Raine and husband, Garry of Thunder Bay, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She is also survived by sisters-in-law, Dora Robinson of England and Ruth Robinson of Vancouver, Anna Mose, Mildred Mose, Mary Mose, Muriel Mose and brother-in-law, Irvin Mose and wife, Amanda. Funeral service for Laura was held at Green Funeral Home on Wednesday, March 13, 2002 at 11 a.m. with Mr. David Jury officiating.
A private interment to follow at a later date in Riverview Cemetery in Fort Frances, Ont.
