LARRY BRIAN FALK

It is with deep sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Larry Brian Falk, 54, on Thursday, Aug. 10, 2006 while working in Geraldton, Ont.
He had moved to Fort Frances, Ont. in 1985 and resided there until his passing.
Larry was born March 1, 1952 in Steinbach, Man. to Jake and Louise Falk, who were always very dear to his heart. He never forgot their birthday, anniversary, or any special occasion that happened in their lives.
Larry respected and adored his parents, and appreciated them every day of his life.
Larry is survived by his soulmate of 21 years, Jane Johnstone; daughter, Allana and son-in-law, Mario Coppola, and their children (Larry’s grandchildren), Kyle and Kaitlyn; mother and father, Jake and Louise Falk; brother, Cliff (Eleanor) Falk and their children, Kristen and Curtis; and sister, Dianne Tyo (partner Don) and her children, Tiffany and Matthew Tyo.
Also surviving is his sister-in-law, Elaine (Rosaire) Mercier; sister-in-law, Gale (Hugh) Niblock; brother-in-law, Paul (Joyce) Fournier; sister-in-law, Jean (Larry) Lambert; sister-in-law, Donna (John) Handberg; brother-in-law, Larry (Patrice) Fournier; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Larry was predeceased by Jane’s son, Bradley Robert Johnstone, on July 5, 1997.
Larry was known as a gentle giant who had a heart as big as the world. He was a kind, loving person who took great pride in his family, friends, and work.
He began his career in finish carpentry soon after high school, and his expertise and professional reputation in this field privileged him to many job opportunities in Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Northwestern Ontario, and as far away as Bermuda.
Larry was a master at his woodworking craft. He was in constant demand and people often referred to his trade as a “Work of Art.”
When Larry moved to Fort Frances in 1985, he met Jane, the love of his life. Together, they made a home and their love for one another was evident to everyone who knew them.
He was extremely proud to be a “father” to Allana and Bradley, and “Papa” to Kyle and Kaitlyn.
Larry’s passion was fishing, and he got such great pleasure and joy out of taking family and friends out to his favourite fishing spots in his dream fishing boat.
There was no prouder man who could watch the joy and excitement on people’s faces catching their first fish, and would not leave the lake until they caught their last.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, Aug. 16, 2006 at 2 p.m. at Green’s Funeral Home in Fort Frances, Ont., with Pastor Al Maier (from Steinbach) officiating.
Interment will take place Thursday, Aug. 17, 2006 at Heritage Cemetery in Steinbach.
The pallbearers were Cliff Falk, Curtis Falk, Matthew Tyo, Mario Coppola, Gary Taylor, and Barry Letkeman.

Those who knew Larry will miss his smile and his big heart. His laughter and his “love for life” were contagious and will never be forgotten. The wonderful memories we have of him will live on in our hearts forever.
