KENNETH JAMES LINKLATER

Kenneth James Linklater, 60, of New York, New York, passed away on Monday, July 24, 2006 at his home.
He was born April 20, 1946 to Henry and Eva Linklater in Emo, Ont. He attended the residential school in Fort Frances as a young boy, moving out on his own at the age of 16.
Ken travelled extensively, finally settling in New York. He was an accomplished writer who had his work published across America. He also had done contract work in the film industry, and loved to talk politics.
He was a quiet man who enjoyed his visits home.
Ken leaves behind his mother, Eva, of Fort Frances, Ont.; children, Tracey King of Toronto, Ont., Ian Corbiere of Wikwemikong, Dana Jones of Manitoba, and Kenneth Moen Sanipass Linklater of Timmins, Ont.; and two grandchildren.
He also is survived by his sisters, Evelyn (Gordon) Nelson of Winnipeg, Man., Lorna Cochrane of Stanjikoming First Nation, Ont., Judy Morrison of Nigigoonsiminikaaning First Nation, and Darlene Teresa Linklater of Thunder Bay, Ont.; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his father, Henry; sisters, Mavis Harrison in 1984 and Arlene Marie Beaumont in 2004; and grandparents, Tom and Harriet Linklater and Damase Harrison and Mary Major.
A wake will be held Saturday, July 29, 2006 from 4 p.m. at the Rainy River First Nation gymnasium.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, July 30, 2006 at 11 a.m. at the Rainy River First Nation gymnasium. Deacon Elmer Mainville will officiate, with interment in the Rainy River First Nation Cemetery.
The pallbearers will be Michael Morrison, Brian Cochrane, John Cochrane, Ernest Brown, Skye Hunter, Alphonse Linklater, Justin McGinnis, and Robin McGinnis.
The honourary pallbearers will be Sonny McGinnis and David DeBungee.
