Kenneth Hector Lockman, 82, of Emo, Ont., passed away at the Emo Health Centre on Tuesday, March 10, 2009.
Ken was born April 27, 1926 in La Vallee, Ont. to the late William and Jenny Lockman.
He was a veteran of World War II, and was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Br. #99 in Emo and a past member of Br. #154 in Atikokan, Ont.
Following the war, he moved to Atikokan, where he worked in the mine. He also had worked as a skidder operator for 10 years for Great Lakes Forest Products in Thunder Bay, Ont.
He then moved to Sudbury, Ont., where he worked for many years in the mine. He later returned to Atikokan, where he lived for many years before moving back to Rainy River District.
He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Ken was united in marriage in Sudbury on June 19, 1952 to the former Agnes Mary Brigden, who predeceased him on Aug. 24, 2007.
He also was predeceased by his father, William in 1953; mother, Margaret Jane (Jenny) Lockman (nee Edwards) in 1973; brothers, Donald, Herbert, Wilfred, and Norman; and sister, Edith Solderholm.
Ken is survived by his brother, Allan, of Atikokan, Ont.; and many nieces and nephews.
A family graveside service will be held at Riverview Cemetery in Fort Frances, Ont. at a later date.
