Apr.12 1955 – Apr.27th 2022
It is with heavy hearts the family announce the passing of Ken Warren on Apr.27 2022 at his home in Dryden, Ontario
Ken was born April 12 1955 in Fort Frances On., to Albert (Minthy) Findlay Warren and Isobel Louise Warren. He attended both elementary and high schools in Fort Frances and later studied Marine & Small Engines at the College of New Caledonia in Prince George B.C. Ken carried his knowledge and natural mechanical ability/talents in that field with him throughout the rest of his life. Always working on something either on the job, or privately for family, friends or himself sharing the “knack” he had to fix just about anything.
Ken spent his best years in Dryden raising his 3 children, and instilled his old school work ethic (and stubbornness) in his kids. He enjoyed keeping busy, whether that meant spending the day in the bush loading up firewood or puttering in the shop with his “knack” to fix anything.
Growing up in Northwestern Ontario, he loved camping, fishing and even winning the Walleye Master one year. He also had a strong infatuation with aviation. When studying his Marine & Small Engines he would hang out at the Prince George Airport just watching the planes land and take off….dreaming of maybe someday becoming a pilot.
He was never one to miss out on a laugh, always a jokester and would give the shirt off his back to anyone in need.
Ken will be sadly missed by all those surviving him, but especially his most prized and proudest
accomplishment, his three children and five grandchildren.
Eldest daughter Angela Kelly Desrosiers and her children, Reece Martin, Lennix Martin, Aleigha Martin, Thierry Martin. His daughter Caitlin Leigh Warren (partner Christopher Dery).
Son Dylan Cody Warren and his son Finlay Warren.
Also surviving are Ken’s sisters Dolly Lemieux, Peggy Guenette (Andy), Karon Warren, and Pat Pearson (Russell). Ken also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews. One of those nephews expressed that it is “like losing a brother” as they where that close throughout their lives.
He was predeceased by his Father and Mother, Albert and Isobel Warren, Stepfather Howard Wagner, sisters Marylou Kerr, Winnifred Vessey, Renee Hyatt, and brother Peter Warren. Also predeceased by a nephew Cory Hyatt, a great nephew Dylan Hyatt and his former spouse Michelle Desrosiers, the Mother of his 3 children.
RIP Ken…you were loved.
There will be cremation and a Celebration of Life for Ken at a later date for those that wish to pay their respects.
