Keith Kabatay

It is with great sorrow that the family of Keith Kabatay announces his sudden passing at Seine River First Nation, Ont. on Saturday, Aug. 26, 2006 at the age of 17.
Keith was born in Fort Frances, Ont. on Jan. 24, 1989 to John and Michelle Kabatay. He had lived in Seine River First Nation all of his life while attending school in Mine Centre and Fort Frances.
He loved to be outdoors and could be found hunting, fishing, waterskiing, snowboarding, and skateboarding. Keith enjoyed playing all sports. He also was very attached to the family dog, Demon, and was constantly caring for him.
He was well-liked throughout the community and will be greatly missed.
He leaves behind his father, John Kabatay Sr. (Anita Collins) of Seine River First Nation, Ont.; mother, Michelle Kabatay of Toronto, Ont.; brothers and sisters, John Kabatay Jr., Kimberley, Wendy, and Destinee Perreault and their mother, Theresa Perreault, Tashina Yeboah, and Julianna Kabatay; and grandmother, Margaret Kabatay and grandfather, Russell Tenniscoe of Seine River First Nation.
He also will be lovingly remembered by his aunts, uncles, and extended family too numerous to name.
Keith was predeceased by his grandmother, Lucy Kabatay and grandfather, Roy Raymond Kabatay.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, Aug. 31, 2006 in the morning at the Seine River First Nation gymnasium in Seine River First Nation. Elder Gilbert Smith will officiate, with interment in the Seine River First Nation Cemetery.
A wake will be held Wednesday, Aug. 30, 2006 from 3 p.m. at the Seine River First Nation gymnasium.
The pallbearers will be Mike Kabatay, Bryan Kabatay, Tyrone Tenniscoe, Walden Spencer, Jason Kabatay, Gerald Johnson, Eugene Collins, Tyler Johnson, Steve Spencer, Dennis Johnson, Peter Johnson, Darcy Whitecrow-Kabatay, Gerald Morrison Sr., Gerald Morrison Jr., Ryan Potson, Vernon Menson, Ken Kabatay, Clarence Johnson, and Nathan Boshkaykin.
The honourary pallbearers will be Patrick Kabatay, Randy Kabatay, Jonathan Potson, Stacy Kabatay, Art Geyshick, Elijah Boshkaykin, and Douglas Boshkaykin.
