After a courageous battle with cancer, Kathleen (Kaye) Agnes Tierney (nee Fowlie) passed away peacefully, with her family by her side, on Sunday, April 30, 2006 at the age of 85.
Beloved wife of Alan Tierney for 63 years; daughter of the late Irene and Frank Fowlie; dear mother and best friend of Maureen Scott (Gary) and Susan Bradley (LeRoy Holborn) of Shedden, Ont; and special dear grandmother of Ryan Alan Scott, and Kevin and David Bradley.
Loved sister of Frank Fowlie (Betty), and predeceased by Verna Pagel (George). Sister-in-law to Peggy Tierney (late Jim) and predeceased by Betty Walton (John), Winona and Jim Tierney.
Very special “Auntie Kaye” will be missed by her many nieces and nephews. Her sunny disposition also will be missed by many friends in Sault Ste. Marie, Fort Frances, and Waterloo.
Friends called at the Northwood Funeral Home in Sault Ste. Marie, Ont. on Tuesday, May 2, 2006 from 6-9 p.m.
Funeral and committal service was held Wednesday, May 3, 2006 at 11 a.m. at St. Lukes Cathedral in Sault Ste. Marie, with The Very Reverend Garry Dobinson officiating.
In memoriam donations made to the New Sault Area Hospital Fund would be appreciated by the family.
Special thanks and gratitude to Dr. P. Lohar, Dr. S. Buehner, Cancer Clinic staff, Karen and 3rd floor staff at the general site, and all the wonderful palliative care staff.
