KATHEREN MARIE MARKO

Katheren Marie Marko (nee Payne), of Winnipeg, Man., passed away May 24, 1999 at St. Boniface Hospital.
Katheren was born May 26, 1953, and attended public and high school in Fort Frances. In 1972, she married Rene Walter Marko, and eventually moved to Ottawa, Ont. Business eventually took Rene and Katheren to Toronto, Ont., then Langley, B.C.
Her final year was spent in Winnipeg, which meant she was close to home and family.
She leaves to mourn three children, Chere Spencer (Kyle) of St. Albert, Alta., and Tiprene and Serena Marko of Langley, B.C.; and two grandchildren.
Also surviving are her parents, Stanley and Joan Payne of Devlin, Ont.; one sister, Beverly Boles of Devlin, Ont.; two nephews, David Boles of Atikokan, Ont. and Darren Boles of Emo, Ont.; and one very special niece, Ashley Katheren Boles of Devlin, Ont.
Her extended family includes uncles, Bill Krukoski (Joan) and Leslie Payne (Gladys); aunts, Sheila Kalik (Ian) and Betty-Ann Silver; as well as numerous cousins.
Katheren loved to come home to visit her family, and enjoyed fishing with her father and gardening with her mother. She was a wonderful help to them with the yard work, especially grass cutting, which she enjoyed the most.
A memorial service will be held at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses on Friday, June 4, 1999 at 1 p.m., with Lawrence Panagapko, a close family friend, officiating.
Cremation took place May 26, 1999 in Winnipeg.
