Karl James “Carl” McDaniel passed away at Wellington Terrace in Elora, Ont. on Wednesday, Nov. 10, 1999 at the age of 93.
He was the beloved husband of Hazel (South) McDaniel; loved father of Joan (Urbane) Richards of Guelph, Joyce (Murray) Johnson of Brampton, Bernice (Fred) Disher of Fonthill, Helen (Wilbur) Mose of Emo, Larry McDaniel of Guelph, Clark (Donna) McDaniel of Elora, and Myrna (Ross) Dunn and Nola (Ron) Deamer, all of North Bay, Ont.
He also is lovingly remembered by his 34 grandchildren and 40 great-grandchildren; and dear brother of Iris Wells of Woodstock, Vera Leonard of Toronto, Dorothy Moore of Powassan, Marion Lynch of Toronto, and Lloyd McDaniel of Dunnville.
He was predeceased by his granddaughter, Charlene; great-grandson, Curtis; son-in-law, Ed Mose; sisters, Ermyn Ratz, Evelyn Mason, Edith Cowan, and Marjorie McDaniel; and brothers, Arthur and William McDaniel.
Carl will be remembered as a loving husband and father who, for 25 years, was the manager of O.W. Thompson Fur Farm in Powassan and for more than 30 years enjoyed the interaction with his many customers in the livestock business.
The family received visitors Friday, Nov. 12, 1999 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at the Gilchrist Chapel in Guelph, Ont.
The family also received visitors at the A.M. Paul Funeral Home in Powassan from 7-9 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 14 and 10-11 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 15, with the funeral service conducted Monday, Nov. 15 at 11 a.m. in the chapel.
Interment in Powassan Union Cemetery.
