It is with great sadness and profound sorrow that the family of Justin DeGagne announces his sudden passing on Sunday, Dec. 18, 2011.
Justin was born Dec. 9, 1983 in Fort Frances, Ont. to Murray and Rhonda DeGagne.
Those who knew him knew they could count on him for anything, he was always willing to help out when needed.
He also loved to be outdoors; to go fishing and hunting with family and friends. These were some of his greatest joys in life, along with being at the trailer, the cabin, going camping, four-wheeling, and snowmobiling.
Justin had an especially close bond with his Mom and Dad—never a day would go by without talking or spending time with them. He could not have asked for more loving and supportive parents.
He surrounded himself with great friendships and through those he met the love of his life, Lauren Ducharme. They went on to confirm their love and married on June 14, 2008.
Lauren and Justin built a wonderful life together; seeing them with one another proved they were meant for each other. They began to grow their family with their dogs, Belle and Molly. Belle was always at Justin’s side; she has a special place in his heart and will forever miss her best friend.
On Jan. 11, 2011, Justin’s love for life grew when he and Lauren welcomed their son, Bryson—Justin’s little man. From this day on, everything changed—being a father came so naturally to him. His love for Bryson was infinite. His son was his world and Justin was determined to be the best Dad.
He showed the same love for his nephew, niece, and young cousins.
Justin was predeceased by his grandparents, Elsie and Herb Dustin; and great-grandparents, Blanche and Johnny Vold and Ulysses and Emelia DeGagne.
Left to cherish their memories are his wife, Lauren; son, Bryson; parents, Murray and Rhonda; grandparents, Arlene and Vinton DeGagne; in-laws, Ray and Shelley Ducharme; uncles, Kevin (Deb) DeGagne and Dwayne (Tracey) DeGagne and their families; brother-in-law, Brad (Katie) Ducharme; sister-in-law, Raelle (Phil) Coswell; nephew and niece, Brody and Blake Ducharme; as well as a large extended family and close friends.
Justin will be forever remembered as a wonderful son, husband, friend, and, above all, an amazing father.
A memorial service will be held Thursday, Dec. 22, 2011 at 2 p.m. at Green Funeral Home in Fort Frances, with Rev. Barbara Miller officiating.
The honourary pallbearers will be Andrew Rogozinski, Travis Green, Jeff Dustin, Steve Fry, Kyle Melville, Rodrick Sangster-Williams, Shaun Kocuiba, Cody Vold, Joel Ashworth, Matt Smith, Leigh Jarvis, Ken Robertson, and Eric Veldhuisen.
Cremation has taken place at Rainy River Crematory Services in International Falls, Mn.
The family gratefully requests that in memoriams be made to establish a trust for Bryson c/o CIBC, 206 Scott St., Fort Frances, Ont.
