JUSTEN B. KROEKER

It is with heavy hearts we announce the sudden passing of Justen B. Kroeker of Kenora, Ont. on May 13, 2012 at the young age of 22.
Justen will be greatly missed by his mother, Laurie Lengyel, sister, Desiree Kroeker, and brother, DeaJea LeBlanc; grandmother, Bonnie Lengyel (Bill Schabler), who was also called home shortly after Justen; his new love of his life, Desirae Gan and her beautiful daughter, Mikaela; Aunt Cherie (Darren); cousins, Brittany (Scott), Danielle, Darien, Hunter and second cousin, Carla; Aunt Lorraine, Aunt Teresa, Aunt Kim, Uncle Dan and their families; and great-grandmother, Helen Kroeker.
Also left to mourn are many great aunts, uncles, cousins, and his extended family of friends too numerous to name all but still within our hearts.
Justen was predeceased by his grandfather, Keith Lengyel; and great-grandparents, Wesley and Dorothy Redford of Fort Frances, Ont. and John and Mable Lengyel of Fort Frances, Ont.
Justen was born Dec. 19, 1989 at Lake of the Woods District Hospital in Kenora. He grew up in a close-knit family and naturally friends he made were kept close like brothers and sisters.
Justen’s love for his family and his cats was very important to him. He also loved the outdoors. In his younger years, Norshores and bike jumps that would make mother’s heart cringe, go-karts, and four-wheeling came soon after.
Weekend camping trips, hunting, and fishing, or just hanging out on the deck with friends, brought great happiness to him.
Justen had travelled to Toronto and Spain through the St. Thomas Aquinas high school travel club, he went to Minneapolis for “Youthquake” with friends, and to Slave Lake, Alta. with his job.
Although he enjoyed the trips, Justen would get homesick and always was happy to return.
Justen graduated from high school in June, 2007. He went to work at Prime Construction—a job which he loved and had a natural talent for. He was well-loved by his co-workers both at work and on the occasional fishing trips.
Justen also had completed his Level 2 course in an apprenticeship for carpentry and was grateful to be able to take his studies here in Kenora.
Justen was truly an inspiration to all with his caring, loving, and joking ways. May his laughter ring in our ears forever.
Cremation has taken place.
A celebration of life will be held Sunday, June 10, 2012 at 1 p.m. under the Harbourfront Tent in Kenora.
