JUNE GAIL WHALEN

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of June Gail Whalen, nee Whitefield, on Thursday, July 3, 2014.
June was born June 16, 1956 in Fort Frances, Ont. to George and Lottie Whitefield.
June is survived by her husband and best friend, Rick Whalen; along with her daughter, Carrie-Lynn Kellar (Jason Happy) and grandchildren, Sierra and Paige; her son, Michael Neil Kellar and grandchildren, Brett, Talyssa, and Zakary; and step-children, Charmaine Whalen and Tarone Whalen.
June also is survived by her mother, Lottie Whitefield; siblings, Janice Whitefield, MayAnn Skirten, Marie Tierney (Dave), and Laverne Whitefield (Denise) of Thunder Bay, Ont., and Neil (Shirley) Whitefield, Karen (Dave) Chowhan, Terry, and Brian (Tammy) Whitefield of Fort Frances, Ont.; brothers in-law, David (Dianna) Whalen and Bruce (Kym) Whalen; and sisters in-law, Carol Spuzak, Kathy (Peter) Spuzak, and Connie (Lennie) Mann.
She also has numerous Whitefield and Whalen nieces and nephews who all loved her dearly.
June was predeceased by her father, George Whitefield; sister, Georgina Whitefield; father in-law, Dean Whalen; and mother in-law, Gladys Whalen.
June was the most gracious, giving, loving person you could ever meet. She also was the most generous person there was. She would do anything for anybody anytime anywhere.
She loved life as if there was no tomorrow and lived every day one day at a time.
She loved being and doing things with her best friend and love of her life, Rick. She especially loved to be with her daughter, Carrie, and granddaughters, Sierra and Paige. They spent many hours and days together.
One of her true loves was her pets—two dogs, Brownie and Chew-chew. They were always by her side and went everywhere together.
One of June’s other loves was working at The Place with Mike, Ken, Brian, Craig, and all the girls.
She would spend her Thursday evenings during the winter months playing TV Bingo with her friends and husband, Rick; often winning and rarely sharing her luck.
She also loved visiting her mother, Lottie, and looked forward to the time they would spend together.
June especially loved her cabin at McCombs Landing and every minute she spent there. She loved the lake and spent her time there fishing, hunting, and visiting her friends.
She loved to ATV in her CF-Moto with her grandchildren in their side-by-side and Rick in his. They also spent hours roasting wieners and s’mores, and enjoyed being in each other’s company having a good time together.
She loved travelling and during her recent trip to Cold Lake, Alta., she enjoyed cruising on an ATV for three days. She also enjoyed her trip to Cuba, where she attended Kevin and Carly Whalen’s wedding, and had said it was one of the most memorable times in her life.
June always was willing to learn, discover, and adventure out. She was very a meticulous person and everything had to be correct, right and good. She could take a practical joke and could give one right back.
She loved to be with her friends and enjoyed making new ones all the time.
To my wife-my best friend:
As you move to a happier place, you will always be in the hearts of all your family; the Whitefields, the Whalens, as well as your many friends. You will be missed sadly every day-every moment, but never out of our hearts or far away from us.
So we will all meet again someday in your happy place. We all know you will be watching over us, protecting us, and looking after us.
I love you so much always and forever.
