Judy Witherspoon

Witherspoon, Judy

Judy did it her way, let’s be honest, she was the life of the party, she liked four letter words as much as she loved playing bridge and she loved playing bridge. You always knew where you stood with her, she liked you or she didn’t, it was black or white, she told it like it is and sugar coated nothing.
Judy surrounded herself with wonderful friends. “The Lounge” was a favourite drop in spot for its many regulars over the years; always a good time and laughter in abundance. Judy entertained dignitaries and politicians from around the world with much style and grace.
Judy was known for her tremendous amount of patience; NOT even close! This fiery Italian married the love of her life 58 years ago in July and yelled at him until the day she died.
Judy is survived by her husband Glenn; her two children Stacey (John) Cann and J.J. (Monica); her four grandchildren Saren, Jake, Eric and Josh; as well as her honorary grandson Andre and her sister in Thunder Bay, Louise Stoot.
She was predeceased by her parents Ada and Jo Fasan and infant granddaughter Emily Josephine Cann.
There will be no funeral or viewing since her family refused to honour her wish to be sitting at a table with a glass of Wiser’s and water in her hand so that she would appear in her natural state. Cremation will take place at later date and her ashes will be kept around as long as they match the decor.
Please don’t cry because she is gone; instead be happy that you knew her and laughed with her, well maybe cry a little bit. To honour your dear friend Judy and our mother, raise a glass of your favourite libation and say her name. She will be horribly missed and never forgotten, my god how could you, and she was one of a kind. Don’t worry Mom, we promise to bring you to all the parties and put you in the center of the table in a mini Wiser’s bottle.
