JUBAL JAY McGINNIS

Jubal Jay McGinnis, 26, of 116 Conestoga St., Thunder Bay, Ont., passed suddenly Thursday, Oct. 28, 2004 at the Thunder Bay Regional Health Science Centre in Thunder Bay.
Jubal was born Feb. 7, 1978 in Minneapolis, Mn.
Jubal was a loving and caring husband, father, son, brother, uncle, nephew, and grandson. He enjoyed athletics since a young age and participated in sports such as hockey, volleyball, and football.
Jubal attended Fort Frances High School with high academic achievement, being on the Honour Roll throughout high school, and then continued his education in Thunder Bay.
Jubal was always willing to give a hand to whoever needed help. He touched many lives and will be missed by family, friends, and relatives.
Jubal is survived by his wife, Caroline Chartrand and their four children, Brooke, Keisha, Savannah, and Marcus McGinnis, all of Thunder Bay, Ont.,; his mother, Mary and Arnold Pelly of Nicickousemenecaning First Nation, Ont., and his father, Willis McGinnis, of Warroad, Mn.; four brothers, Damian, Emmery, and Cullan McGinnis, all of Nicickousemenecaning First Nation, Ont., and Lyndahl McGinnis of Thunder Bay, Ont.; and one sister, Danelle McGinnis of Thunder Bay, Ont.
Also surviving are step-brothers, Arnold Pahpasay, Sonny Payash, Nicky Payash, and Brian Kokokopenace, all of Grassy Narrows First Nation, Ont.; and six step-sisters, Holly Pahpasay of Orillia, Ont., Elaine Pahpasay of Rat Portage First Nation, Ont., Patricia Keewatin, Alice Keesick, and April Fobister, all of Grassy Narrows First Nation, Ont., and Monica Payash of Winnipeg, Man.
A traditional burial ritual was held Tuesday, Nov. 2, 2004 in the morning at the Nicickousemenecaning First Nation gymnasium in Nicickousemenecaning First Nation, Ont.
Interment took place in Nicickousemenecaning First Nation Cemetery.
Active pallbearers and honourary pallbearers were selected at the service.
A wake was held Monday, Nov. 1, 2004 in the evening at the Nicickousemenecaning First Nation gymnasium.
