Peacefully on Saturday March 24, 2007 at the Emo Health Centre in Emo, Ont., Joyous L. Wilson passed away at the age of 78.
Joyous was born Dec. 10, 1928 to the late James and Adeline Brigden. In 1951, Joyous married Willard Wilson and they resided in Emo, where they raised their family.
Joyous was a chartered member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Women’s League.
Joyous will be sadly missed by her husband, Willard, of 55 years; children, Theresa (Ron) Redford, Ralph (Brenda) Wilson, Len (Cheryl) Wilson, Reg (Laurie) Wilson, Marlene (Peter) McQuaker, Joyous (Don) Bragg, Melvin (Bonita) Wilson, Julie (Danny) Mattson, and Robert Wilson; and daughters-in-law, Pam Wilson and Wendy McLean.
She also will be lovingly remembered by 29 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Also surviving are her sisters, Agnes (Ken) Lockman, Rita Desgroseilliers, and Lorraine (Gerald) Bullied; sister-in law, Pauline Brigden; and in-laws, Jim (Eliza) Wilson, Alex (Linda) Wilson, Dan (Ellen) Wilson, Lydia Wilson, Iris Reid, Elizabeth (Nick) Kluk, and Don Khober.
Joyous was predeceased by her sons, Gary Wilson (2003) and Doug Wilson (1984); sisters, Alice Richert, Stella Brigden, Dorothy (William) Munn, Adeline and Khober; and brothers, Charles and Jerry Brigden, and Harry (Shirley) Brigden.
Friends were received at the Northridge Funeral Home in Emo, Ont. on Monday, March 26, 2007 from 7-9 p.m., with prayers held at 7:30 p.m.
Funeral mass was held at the St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Emo on Tuesday, March 27, 2007 at 11 a.m., with Fr. Dan Debano celebrant.
The pallbearers were Michael Redford, Gary Wilson, Brent Wilson, Jesse Wilson, Kyle Wilson, Greg Mattson, Nelson Bragg, and Joshua Wilson.
Cremation followed at Rainy River Cremation Services.
