JOYCE WINONA DITTARO TILBURY

Joyce Winona Dittaro Tilbury (nee Murray) passed away peacefully on Monday, Feb. 3, 2014, at the age of 89.
She is survived by her brother, Bruce Murray; daughters, Wendy and Christine; son, David; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and a large extended family.
Joyce was predeceased by her eldest daughter, Patricia Jill, and her husbands, Enzo Dittaro and Larry Tilbury.
Joyce was a loving, independent, and determined friend to many, as demonstrated by her years of volunteer work with local community talent shows, her work with the Canadian Legion, and her friendship to all those around her.
Proficient and talented at the piano, Joyce often accompanied “Klondike Kate” during Edmonton’s Klondike Days celebrations. She and husband, Enzo, and their small band of musicians also entertained dance crowds for many years.
Joyce enjoyed sewing, she loved a good joke, an occasional pint with friends or family, and throughout her life, she always could find the good in people she knew or met.
Favourite topics of discussion included the Toronto Blue Jays, the latest novel she had read, and televised legal trials (yes, especially O.J.)!
Joyce was proud to have lived in Fort Frances, Thunder Bay, Edmonton, Innisfail, and Abbotsford. She could call all them home.
As per Joyce’s wish, she has gifted her physical remains to research.
If so desired, in memoriam donations appreciated to the Alzheimer’s Society of Canada (www.giving.med.ubc.ca) or the University of British Columbia Research (www.alzheimer.ca/en)
We know she sends all of you her love!
