JOYCE JOHNSON

Born April 19, 1938, in Powassan, Ont., to Carl and Hazel (South) McDaniel passed away peacefully at her home in Brampton, Ont.

Joyce received her education at Powassan Elementary and District High Schools. After graduation she attended North Bay Teachers College and earned her teachers degree. Her teaching career started in Powassan, then to Hamilton, then on to Burriss, Ont., and Emo, Ont., where she retired in 1995. She loved to teach, and she cared for every student in her classes, bringing kindness and fun to their school days.

In 1954, Joyce made her choice to serve God, a choice she continued to make every day throughout her life. She was a beautiful singer and playing and singing hymns was a constant in her home. When asked for advice her answer was always “Pray about it.”

Predeceased by her parents; brother Larry; sister Bernice Disher; dear brothers-in-law Fred Disher and Ross Dunn; and husband Edward Mose.

Survived by her husband Murray Johnson; children Clark, Carla and Marlin (Laurel); six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Also survived by her brother Clark McDaniel (Donna); sisters Joan (Urbane) Richards, Helen (Wilbur) Mose, Myrna Dunn and Nola Deamer; and numerous much-loved nieces and nephews.
