Joyce Gawlik (née Bombay), a long-time resident of Edmonton, Alta., passed away Thursday, Oct. 1, 2015 in Peace River, Alta. at the age of 87.
She was born Sept. 19, 1928 at Manitou Rapids of Rainy River First Nations.
Joyce was a talented seamstress and knitter. She is remembered for the beautiful knitted blankets she made for her grandchildren.
Joyce loved being a Christian and made her peace with God many years ago.
She was predeceased by her daughter, Irene; sons, Dennis, Wayne, and Joe; husbands, Lawrence and Ted; and granddaughter, Natasha.
Joyce is survived by her daughters, Gloria Gardiner, Kathy Sloan, Doreen Quirion, and Debbie Mandamin; as well as numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held Friday, Oct. 30, 2015 at 3 p.m. at Woodlawn Cemetery in Hinton, Alta., with Pastor John Klassen officiating.
In memoriam donations may be made the Canadian Diabetes Association as expressions of sympathy.
