It was with great sadness when Josey passed away Sunday, April 4, 2004, in Rainy River Hospital in Rainy River, Ont. She was born Aug. 17, 1921 to Joe and Emily Johnson at Pinewood, Ont.
At the beginning of the World War II, she went to Thunder Bay, where she worked in the Canada Car. When the war was over, she moved to Sioux Narrows, Ont., where she worked in the post office.
She met Russell Ott here and married in 1949. They then moved to Bow Island, Alta., where she worked in the hospital in the housekeeping department for 29 years.
She enjoyed gardening, knitting, canning, and spending time with her many friends.
After her husband’s death, her health started to fail and she moved back to Rainy River, where she spent her last days.
She was predeceased by her husband (January, 1992); four brothers, John, Walter, Conley, and Keith; and three sisters, Ida May, Ivy, and Mary.
One sister remains, Violet Morrison; as well as 17 nieces and nephews.
She will be buried in Bow Island. She had no family of her own and always said her nieces and nephews were her family.
