Joseph Charles Herman “Carl” Heisler, 70, of Emo, Ont., passed away Tuesday, Jan. 22, 2002 at the Emo Hospital.
Carl was born Oct. 6, 1931 in Emo and lived on the family farm his entire life. He farmed, cut wood, and worked for the Department of Highways until his retirement in 1984.
His favourite pastimes were playing music, card games, and hunting.
Carl was united in marriage March 18, 1983 to Jean Elliott (McNally), who survives along with two children, Brenda (Rick) Anderson of Hazelridge, Man., and Lois (King) of Crozier, Ont.
Also surviving are grandchildren, Richard and Ryan Anderson, Reggie (Bobbie Jo) King, Gina (John) Pillon, and Donald King; and great-grandchildren, Matthew, Jasmyne, Nathaniel, Hailey, and Shelby.
He also leaves to mourn brothers-in-law, Chuck Halverson, Les (Sharon) McNally, and Glen (Gillian) McNally; sisters-in-law, Helen (Ed) Nelson, Dorothy (Chuck) Gate, Beulah (Roland) Larocque, Margaret (Dale) Johnsrud, and Diane (Jack) Vandenbrand; as well as several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by one son, Larry Elliott; sister, Helen Halverson; and parents, Herman and Cecilia Heisler.
Memorial services were held Friday, Jan. 25, 2002 at 2 p.m. at the Royal Canadian Legion Hall in Emo, with Rev. Eileen Bragg officiating.
The honourary pallbearers were Rudy Meyers, Glen Cameron, Neil Grant, Al Kellar, Terry Stevens, and Dave Lee.
