JONATHAN SHOEMAKER

The family of Jonathan Eric Shoemaker is sad to announce the passing of their son, partner, father, brother, uncle, and grandfather.
He passed away suddenly at his home on Friday, Oct. 8, 2010.
Jon was born Sept. 18, 1957 in Elkhorn, Man. to Joyce and Herb Shoemaker. When Jon was 12, the family moved from Keewatin, Ont. to a farm in Burriss, Ont.
Jon was a carpenter by trade and loved to build things. He was a lot of help to his family and friends either fixing or building something.
Jon enjoyed helping with the therapeutic riding program that is run at the family farm. He also loved the outdoors, be it horseback riding, sitting on a tractor, fishing, or simply just being by the lake.
Jon was predeceased by his father, Herb, and his youngest son, Jeffery.
He is survived by his sons, Nathan and Kyle; one granddaughter; his mother, Joyce; his best friend and partner, Jacqui; his sisters, Joy (Garth) Lockman, Cathy (Bill) Hosegood, and Dianne Chapman; his brothers, Greg (Lori) Shoemaker, Kim (Rhonda) Shoemaker, Brad (Betty) Shoemaker, and Herb (Tammy) Shoemaker; and many nieces and nephews.
Cremation has taken place, and a come-and-go celebration of Jon’s life was held Wednesday, Oct. 13, 2010 from 2-5 p.m. at the Devlin Hall.
