Ann then joined John in Melita before moving to Winnipeg in 1959. John worked at Deer Lodge Veteran’s Hospital as an orderly. They welcomed their first child Marty in 1961 and John then transferred to the Fort Frances hospital when Marty was three weeks old. They settled in Emo and purchase their farm on Lash Road in 1963. They then welcome four more children – Anthony, Tim, Rick and Jackie. John moved to the Emo Hospital and worked there for 29 years until his retirement at age 65.
John enjoyed his years farming and spending time with his neighbours, farming community and coffee shop buddies. He and Ann loved to go for rides in the country and stopping for ice cream along the way. They were married for 64 years. John always had a joke to tell and loved to tease his grandkids.
