It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our dear father, Uncle John Tom Madden, 86, peacefully on Friday, Dec. 24, 2010 at the La Verendrye Health Centre in Fort Frances, Ont. with his family by his side.
He is survived by his sons, Dwayne Blackburde of Stratton, Ont. and Jackie Brown of Wabigoon, Ont. He also helped in the raising of Ronalda Kelly, Brenda Kelly, Patrick Kelly Jr., Orval Kelly, Patrick Scott Ted Kelly, and Larry Duck Jr., all of Onigaming First Nation.
Numerous nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews, great-grand nieces and nephews, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren also survive.
He was predeceased by his parents, Tom and Rose Madden; four sisters, Rosie Bob, Maggie Copenace, Flossie Copenace, and Marjorie Kelly; one brother, Bob Madden; and beloved nephew, Patrick Kelly Sr.
A wake will be held Tuesday, Dec. 28, 2010 from 3 p.m., with funeral services scheduled for Wednesday, Dec. 29, 2010 at 11 a.m. at the Onigaming gymnasium.
The pallbearers will be Patrick Scott Kelly, Donald Copenace, Clayton Bob, Josh Mainville, Chad Blackburde, and Kurt Copenace.
