JOHN SOCHOLOTUK

John Socholotuk, 73, of Duluth, Mn., passed away Monday, June 28, 2010 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Duluth.
John was born in Winnipeg, Man. on Sept. 27, 1936 to William and Elizabeth (Marchuk) Socholotuk.
He resided in Fort Frances, Ont. and went to college in Tennessee. Later he moved to Duluth.
John married Stella Poldoski in 1966.
He was employed at Davidson Printing Co. and Stewart Taylor Printing Co. of Duluth. He presently was employed at the Holiday Inn Downtown.
John was very interested in fishing, hunting, remote airplane flying, pool, dancing, woodworking, and following East High School hockey.
John had a great spirit. He will be remembered and deeply missed by all who knew him.
He was predeceased by his parents and two sons, Michael and David Poldoski.
John is survived by his children, Doug Poldoski of Lake City, Mn., Lynette (Rick) Sayers of Brooklyn Park, Mn., Scott Poldoski, Jackie Poldoski, and John “Nonnie” Socholotuk, all of Duluth, Mn.; 14 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and several family members in Canada.
A memorial service was held Thursday, July 1, 2010 at 2 p.m. at First United Methodist Church (Coppertop) in Duluth.
Visitation was held one hour prior to the service.
