John Reader, 73, of Fort Frances, Ontario, passed away on Sunday, June 12, 2022, at the LaVerendrye General Hospital in Fort Frances.
John was born on September 20, 1948, in Toronto, Ontario, to Albert and Lillian Reader. He grew up in Highland Creek and attended Sir Sandford Fleming College, studying forestry. John loved the outdoors, fishing, hunting and exploring. This passion led him to the Ministry of Natural Resources and Northwestern Ontario. It was here that he and Judith were united in marriage on December 18, 1971. John loved to spend time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He also had a passion for music. He often played guitar and sang at local events and schools. He was a highly active member of the Sister Kennedy Centre where he enjoyed sharing his passion for music with others.
He will be greatly missed by his wife Judith; children Christie (Ryan) Holt and Patrick (Marsha) Reader; grandchildren Mikailla, Ben, Sadie, Mike and Patrick; brothers-in-law Keith (Helen) and Dennis Bebak and their families.
John was predeceased by his parents Albert and Lillian; sisters Peggy and Edith; and in-laws Eleanor and Fred Bebak.
Cremation has taken place and a private family service has been held.
