JOHN KAMERMAN

John Kamerman, 64, of Emo, Ont., passed away, with his family and friends at his side, at Port Arthur General Hospital in Thunder Bay, Ont. on Friday, Oct. 16, 1999 after a brief illness.
He was predeceased by his daughter, Ann.
John is survived by his loving wife, Gertie; daughter, Barbara Kyro (Paul); son, Bram (Norma-Jean); son, Arnold (Yvonne); daughters, Annette Gerrits (Albert), Caroline Hiemstra (Andrew), and Reta Dykstra (Ed); 11 grandchildren; his mother, Hendrika; brothers, Wim, Bram, and Harry; and sister, Rita.
He was born in Holland on April 15, 1935 and immigrated to Canada with his family in March, 1951. On May 29, 1959, John married Gertrude Kaemingh and in the presence of family and many friends, celebrated 40 years of marriage to her in May of this year.
He retired in April, 1993 following 39 years of dedicated service to Boise Cascade Canada. He used his retirement to be a blessing to his children and grandchildren, who were the frequent recipients of his woodworking handiwork.
As a husband, dad, Opa, brother, son, uncle, and friend, John’s absence from our lives will be painfully felt by us all and yet we are celebrating with him his departure from this earthly body so full of limitations to a glorious eternity with his faithful Savior, Jesus Christ.
A visitation was held Monday, Oct. 18, 1999 from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m. at Green Funeral Home.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Oct. 19, 1999 at 2 p.m. at Emo Christian Reformed Church in Emo, Ont., with Pastor Gerald Van Smeerdyk officiating.
