John James Plasky passed away Saturday, March 28, 2105 at La Verendrye Hospital in Fort Frances, Ont.
John was born Jan. 19, 1943 in Fort Frances to John and Mary Plasky.
After school, he joined the navy and worked as a cook. Later on, he worked at the paper mill in Fort Frances until he retired in 2000.
John loved to spend time with his wife, Judy, and his kids, Steven and Michael, camping, fishing, and hunting. John also spent hours in the blueberry patch with Judy, his kids, and the grandchildren.
John loved to spend time at the arenas watching Daniel curl and Montana figure skate—even when practice was at 6 a.m. John loved his kids and all of his grandchildren; he was very proud of them.
John was predeceased by his wife, Judy Plasky; parents, John and Mary Plasky; and mother- and father-in-law, Mary and Jack (John) Monrean.
He is survived by his sons, Steven (Kris) Plasky and Michael (Nora) Plasky; grandchildren, Shem, Rachel, Alex, Aaron, Abby, Johanna, Lydia, Michah, Ella Jean, Daniel, Montana, Mathew, and Dakota Plasky; and great-grandchild, Everette.
John also is survived by his sister, Darlene (Clint) Clark; brother, Larry Plasky; brothers-in-law, Dennis (Shellie) Monrean, Randy (Carol) Monrean, and Steven Monrean; sister-in-law, Beverley (Dani) Lind; and numerous nieces and nephews.
John also will be missed by his Tim Hortons coffee group.
A graveside service will be held Friday, April 17, 2015 at 11 a.m. at the Riverview Cemetery in Fort Frances, with Rev. Ralph Fluit officiating.
Reception to follow at the Zion Lutheran Church in Fort Frances.
