JOHN ‘JACK’ McCOMB

John “Jack” McComb, of McDonald Inlet, R.R. #2, Fort Frances, Ont., passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, Nov. 18, 2010 at the of 63.
Jack was born Sept. 10, 1947 in Emo, Ont. to Elwood and Cecilia McComb.
He served in the Canadian Armed Forces for several years during peace time. He also worked as a radio operator for the Ministry of Natural Resources, for a period at the mill in Fort Frances, and also for the The Great Bear convenience store for many years.
Jack had a great love for the outdoors and the lake, and was proud of his camp called McComb’s Landing, located on McDonald Inlet, Rainy Lake.
He will be great missed by his mother, Cecilia McComb of Emo, Ont.; spouse, Pat Belanger of McDonald Inlet, Ont.; stepchildren Monique, Troy, and Jolene (Eden); eight step-grandchildren and one great-grandson.
Jack also is survived by his father-in-law, Tom Crowe; sister-in-law Val (Doug); aunts, Shirley King, Ella Angus, and Bessie McComb and their families; special family, Mel Kalstrom, and Tom and Norma Kalstrom; numerous cousins; and his best friend and companion, T-KA.
Jack was predeceased by his father, Elwood, and numerous aunts and uncles.
As per Jack’s request, cremation has taken place.
A time of fellowship will be held Thursday, Nov. 25, 2010 from 1-4 p.m. at the Northridge Funeral Home in Emo, Ont.
