John F. Williams, C.A., C.M.C., passed away June 17, 2002 at his home in Toronto, Ont. at the age of 67 after a lengthy bout of cancer.
He is survived by his wife, Lenore; and four children, Barbara (Tom), Wendy (Peter), Larry (Margo), and Randy (Marilyn).
He was completely charmed by his six grandchildren, Joe, Ray, Robin, Zachary, Levi, and Allison, and considered them a special gift in life.
He also is survived by brothers, Herb (Tonia) and Dick (Peggy); and a sister, Elizabeth (Brian).
John immensely enjoyed the stimulation of new ideas and places. During their last 25 years together, he and Lenore toured 60 countries around the globe and sampled the texture of the urban environment in key cities on walkabouts.
A Chartered Accountant and Certified Management Consultant by profession, his career focused extensively on senior operating management roles, as president of Headway Corp., C.F.O. at Mathieu Lumber, and managing director of Quetico Centre for Continuing Education and Coopers & Lybrand Associates of Kingston, Jamaica.
He also specialized in real estate with Coopers & Lybrand Toronto, and was the author of three textbooks on Space Performance Technology.
After cremation, a private service was held for the immediate family, with interment in the rose garden of Mount Pleasant Cemetery.
