John Bishop, 88, of 130 Fifth St. E., Fort Frances, Ont., passed away suddenly at his home Friday, March 16, 2001.
He was born Dec. 14, 1912 in Shelly, Ont. On April 20, 1940, he was united in marriage to the former Anna Pisco.
John and Anna moved to Bergland, Ont. to live for a few years, then later moved to Rainy River, Ont., where John worked with the Bridges and Buildings Gang for the C.N.R. for a number of years.
In 1957, the family moved to Fort Frances, where John worked for 20 years as an orderly at Rainycrest Home for the Aged until his retirement in 1978.
John had a love for animals, and very much enjoyed gardening.
He was predeceased by his one sister.
John is survived by his wife, Anna Bishop, of Fort Frances, Ont.; son, Ken and wife, Judy, of Chatham, Ont.; two granddaughters, Angela and husband, Tim Myers, and Crystal Bishop-Dodds, all of Chatham, Ont.; one great-granddaughter, Stephannie Myers; one great-grandson, Trevor Dodds; and by his sister, Ida and husband, Harry Peterson, of B.C.
Memorial services will be held at a later date in Chatham, Ont.
