JOANNA MARIE FRASER

In loving memory of Joanna Marie Fraser, 18, of Couchiching First Nation, Ont., who passed away Thursday, Dec. 23, 1999 at La Verendrye General Hospital in Fort Frances, Ont.
Joanna was the daughter of John Daniel Fraser and Patricia Kathleen Fraser (nee Bruyere); and sister to Nathan Edward Bruyere and Michael Joseph Fraser.
Also left to mourn is her grandmother, Millie Fraser of Nipigon, Ont.; aunts, Cecile (Bob) Davidson of Atikokan, Ont., Judy Leeson of Dryden, Ont., Margaret (Gerald) Thurier of Crystal Lake, Ont., Pauline (Tom) Blair of Atikokan, Ont., and Linda (Yvan) Allard of Nipigon, Ont.; and uncles, Francis “Pogo” Bruyere of Fort Frances, Ont., Allan “Spud” Bruyere (Debbie) of Atikokan, Ont., and Harry (Peggy) Bruyere of Sapawe, Ont.
She also leaves behind her cousins, Jackie (Len, Jeffrey), Bridget (Dave, Tyler, Michael), Jason, Ricky, Roxanne, Trevor (Laura, Troy, Brandon), Bradley, Tony, Mark, Brian, Crystal (Deanna), Robbie, Tyler, Jody, and Jamie.
Joanna was predeceased by her grandfather, Clarence Emmanuel Fraser in September, 1981; grandfather, Edward Joseph Bruyere in September, 1993; and her grandmother, Marjorie Bruyere (nee Lyons/Morrisseau) in March, 1997.
She loved bowling, listening to her country tunes, bugging her dad, and arguing with her brothers. She was attending Grade 11 at Fort Frances High School along with a Job Readiness Training Program, which she really enjoyed.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Dec. 28, 1999 at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes Roman Catholic Church. Father Lorne McDonald officiated, with interment in Our Lady of Lourdes Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Randy Beyak, Nathan Bruyere, Michael Fraser, James Dobie, David Lyons, and Alfred Cotterill.
Honourary pallbearers were Fran and Richard Kolton, Pauline Beyak, Alan Bruce, Donna Bruce Pennycook, Eugene and Ria McPherson, Karen Pirie, Maryann Duhamel, Sharon Strachan, and all of Joanna’s cousins.
If friends so desire, in memoriam donations may be made to the Fort Frances or Atikokan Kiwanis or the Toronto Sick Children’s Hospital.
