It is with great sadness that the family announces the sudden passing of Joan Cawston of Winnipeg, Man. on Monday, Feb. 10, 2003 at the age of 64.
She was born Aug. 26, 1938.
She leaves to mourn her passing, and to cherish her memory, her children, Debbie (Larry) Armstrong, Candace Kawulia (Jim), and Nickie (Cheryl) Kawulia; brothers and sisters, Louise (Buzz) McComb, Mihlan “Bung” (Betty) Cawston, Connie Hill, George (Sandi) Cawston, and Linn (Nicole) Cawston; grandchildren, Jessica and Tiffany Armstrong, Tara Roberts (Tim), Nicholas and Aaron Kawulia, and Daniel, Tyler, and Paige Yatchuk; great-grandchild, Riley Roberts; and her very special friend, Lorne Langstaff.
She also is survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and good friends.
Joni was predeceased by her father, Murray Cawston; mother, Ada Bovair; and step-father, James Bovair.
Joni had a love for dancing, and she was a member of Patricia’s Dance Studio in Winnipeg. She also loved being at the lakes and spent many summer weekends in Fort Frances, boating and fishing with her family.
Cremation has taken place and a funeral service will be held Wednesday, Feb. 12, 2003 at 10 a.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home (4000 Portage Ave.), with a reception following.
A private family graveside service will take place by her mother’s graveside in Emo, Ont. at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, in memoriam donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
