In loving memory of Jessie Julia Westover, 80, of Emo, Ont., who passed away Tuesday, Nov. 12, 2002 at La Verendrye Hospital in Fort Frances, Ont.
Jessie was born March 19, 1922 in Midale, Sask. to Albert and Margit Eide. She moved to Rainy River District in the late 1930s. As a young woman, she worked as a waitress.
On Oct. 27, 1941, she was united in marriage to Donovan Westover. Together they farmed.
She enjoyed riding horses, crocheting, and embroidery. Jessie also loved her family dearly, she made every effort to make everyone welcome, and could be found whipping up a big meal at a moment’s notice.
Jessie was survived by her husband, Donovan, who passed away Friday, Nov. 15, 2002; sons, Darrel and wife, Dorothy, of Emo, Ont., and Leland and wife, Pam, of Sifton Township, Ont.; grandchildren, Shane, Darren (Cindy), Dawn Marie, Tammy (Brent) Hyatt, Clint (Rhonda), and Clay; great-grandchild, Lane Hyatt; step great-grandchildren, Tanya (Robert) Barron, Angel (Kevin) Lowe, Dawn (Adam) Grey, Charity, Josh, and Jesse; and five step great-great-grandchildren.
Also surviving are her brother, Cecil Eide and wife, Dorothy, of Hardisty, Alta.; sisters-in-law, Greta Eide and Helen Eide, both of Fort Frances, Ont.; brother-in-law, Ed-die Gladu of Fort Frances, Ont.; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.
She was predeceased by her parents, Albert and Margit; son, Cecil Westover on Jan. 29, 2002; brothers, Basil and Elmer Eide; and sister, Millie Gladu.
Funeral services were held Monday, Nov. 18, 2002 at 11:30 a.m. at Green Funeral Home in Fort Frances. Rev. Frances Flook officiated, with interment in Chap-ple Cemetery in Barwick, Ont.
Friends visited on Sunday, Nov. 17, 2002 from 7:30 until 9 p.m. at Green Funeral Home in Fort Frances.
Pallbearers were her grandchildren, Shane Westover, Darren Westover, Dawn Marie Westover, Tammy Hyatt, Clint Westover, and Clay Westover.
Honourary pallbearers were Celia Eide, Allen Eide, Randy Gladu, Terry Eide, Earl Swazie, and Wayne Nugent.
