It is with great sadness the family announces the sudden passing of Jessica Rae Yerxa, 51, of Big Island First Nation at her residence on February 5, 2022.
Jessica was born on October 26, 1970, in Fort Frances to parents Wayne and Margaret (nee Handorgan) Yerxa.
Jessica was in life a pure and wonderful soul to be around. She had an endearing smile and laugh that was contagious to all of us on a daily basis. She will be dearly missed eternally by all who knew her.
She is survived by her parents Wayne and Margaret Yerxa; and her siblings Darlene Gibbins, Dwayne Yerxa, Kevin Yerxa and Jason Yerxa.
She is predeceased by her older sister Cynthia Yerxa.
We all give thanks to have loved such a beautiful member of our family and we all wish her the very best on her journey.
A traditional wake was held on Friday, February 18, 2022, at 4:00 p.m. followed by a traditional service on Saturday, February 19, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. from the Big Island First Nation Round House. Interment to follow in Big Island First Nation Cemetery.
