JENNIE FREDRICKA CAVE

Jennie Cave, 94, of Rainycrest Home for the Aged, 550 Osborne St., Fort Frances, Ont., and formerly of Heritage Home in Rainy River, Ont., passed away peacefully at her residence Sunday, Sept. 2, 2001.
She was born Sept. 19, 1906 in Jarpen, Sweden to the late Josephina Erickson. She moved to Canada with her mother and brother, Eric, and settled in Bergland, Ont.
On April 3, 1936, Jennie was united in marriage to Wesley Cave. Following their marriage, they moved to Stratton, Ont., where they farmed west of there for many years. Following her husband’s passing, Jennie moved to Rainy River.
During the 1990s, Jennie moved to Fort Frances, where she had resided since.
She was predeceased by her husband, Wesley Cave, in 1980; son, Gordon Cave, in 1983; grandson, David Cave, in 1988; one sister, Ellen Locker; three brothers, Eric Erickson, Evert Erickson, Frans Erickson, and one younger brother.
Jennie is survived by her daughter-in-law, Cynthia Cave and friend, Chuck Harrison, of Barwick, Ont.; five grandchildren, Thomas Cave of Kenora, Ont., Eric Cave and wife, Tracy, of Cochrane, Ont., Richard Cave of Dryden, Ont., and Jean Cave and Ross Cave, both of Stratton, Ont.; five great-grandchildren, Tabitha, Jonathon, Michael, Darren, and Alison; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, Sept. 5, 2001 at 2 p.m. at the Stratton United Church in Stratton. Pastor Pat White officiated, with interment in the Stratton Municipal Cemetery in Stratton.
Friends visited with family Wednesday afternoon from 1 p.m. until service time at the Stratton United Church.
Pallbearers were Reuben Korb, Melvin Armstrong, John Smits, Ron Kloosterman, Ken McDonald, and Jack Gustafson.
