It is with profound sadness the family of Jenna Audelia Rivas-Torres announces her passing on Friday, May 13, 2022, in Fort Frances, Ont.
Jenna was born on February 22, 1989, to Marcos Rivas-Torres and Lorraine Friday. She grew up in Winnipeg, Manitoba, and moved to Seine River First Nation as a teenager. Jenna was very artistic and loved to draw and bead. She enjoyed cosmetology and loved to doll up her friends and herself. She enjoyed life, was always trying to help others when they were feeling down. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
She leaves behind her mother Lorraine; father Marcos (Coralia); partner Ray Johnson; children Carter, Azarya, Luca, Shyne and John; siblings Charlene Schoffer, Ron Friday, Erica Stonefish, Shannon Stonefish (Samantha Joy) and Julio. She also leaves behind numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Jenna was predeceased by her grandparents Bud and Jessie Friday and Audelia Rivas-Torres; uncle Larry Friday; aunts Patsy and Valerie.
A traditional funeral ceremony was held on Wednesday, May 18, 2022, at the Seine River First Nation Community Hall with Elder Ralph Johnson officiating. Interment took place in Seine River First Nation.
The pallbearers were Ron Friday, Alex Schoffer, Jackson Bird, Dan Friday, Ray Johnson, Shannon Stonefish and Kevin Schoffer.
The honourary pallbearers are Jody Kabatay, Colleen Johnson, Alexis Whitecrow, Emily Potson, Carla Johnson and Julio Moran.
