JEFFREY ROBERT CYR

It is great sorrow that the family of Jeff Cyr announce his passing on Wednesday, Sept. 9, 2009 in Toronto, Ont.
Jeff was born Aug. 20, 1976 in Fort Frances, Ont. to Marcella Cyr and the late Robert Smith.
He resided in Toronto, but often came back to Northwest Bay to visit with family and friends. He especially enjoyed the time he spent with his four small nieces, Rian, Hailee, Amy, and Anna.
He also enjoyed writing poetry, reading books, and taking walks.
Jeff will be sadly missed by his mother, Marcella Cyr, and stepfather, Clarence Malcolm, of Northwest Bay First Nation; son, Jreydon Paul Indian of Fort Frances, Ont.; sisters, Shelley Cyr (Nathaniel) of Fort McMurray, Alta., and Shantelle Cyr (Jon) and Michelle Cyr (Lucas) of Northwest Bay, Ont.; stepbrothers, Howard Malcolm of Sandy Bay First Nation, Bradley Malcolm of Winnipeg, Man., and George Councillor of Northwest Bay First Nation; and stepsister, Crystal Malcolm of Sandy Bay First Nation.
Also surviving are five nieces, Rian Cyr, Jenessa Stevenson, Hailee Tucker, Amy Cyr, and Anna Cyr-Arden; nephew, Bryson Jordan; uncles, Tommy Smith (Lorraine), Dennis Smith (Donna), Brian Smith, Daniel Smith, Derek Smith, Raymond Cyr (Doreen), and Russell Cyr (Sally); aunts, Doris Caribou (Walter), Lillian Ottertail (Henry), Darlene Smith, Wanda Paishk (Patrick), Sandra Smith (Justin), Sharlene Smith (Ralph), and Roseanna Councillor; good friend, Danielle Koyama of Toronto, Ont.; as well as numerous cousins.
Jeff was predeceased by his father, Robert Smith; grandfathers Louis Cyr and Billy Smith; and grandmother, Sally Smith.
A wake was held Tuesday, Sept. 15, 2009 starting at 3 p.m. at the Northwest Bay First Nation Gymnasium.
A funeral service was held Wednesday, Sept. 16, 2009 at 10 a.m. at the Northwest Bay First Nation Gymnasium. Rev. Mr. Bob Grynol officiated, with interment in the Northwest Bay First Nation Cemetery.
The pallbearers were Lucas Arden, Jonathan Tucker, Shane Cyr, Michael Smith, George Councillor, and Faron Caribou.
The honourary pallbearers were his special friends and his nieces and nephews.
