JEANNETTE L. PEARSON

Jeannette L. Pearson passed away Tuesday, April 25, 2006 at Palm Drive Hospital.
She was the loving wife of the late Frank H. Pearson, RPT, for 25 years; the loving mother of Frank R. Pearson IV and his wife, Susan; the adored grandmother of Frank R. Pearson V, and Damon A. Pearson and his wife Paulette; and great-grandmother of Justin, Gavin, and Alexander Pearson.
Jeannette is survived by her beloved sister, Marianne Gagne, and many nieces and nephews residing in Fort Frances, Ont. Other loving nieces and nephews reside in many provinces as well as in the United States.
Jeannette also was dearly loved by her extended family.
Jeannette graduated from St. Boniface School of Nursing in Winnipeg, Man. as a registered nurse in 1941. She enlisted and served as a lieutenant in the Royal Canadian Army Nursing Corps during WWII.
During her service in England, she was decorated by the Queen Mother.
In 1947, she married Frank, a physical therapist, in Fort Frances. They came to Santa Rosa in 1948, where he was employed by the Santa Rosa Junior College and subsequently went into private practice as a Registered Physical Therapist.
Jeannette worked at the Santa Rosa General Hospital and, in 1950, went to work at the new Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital, where she served from 1950-71. She then transferred to Queen of the Valley Hospital in Sonoma.
Her husband, Frank, previously had played hockey in 1936 for the Grace Brothers hockey team.
She retired from Montgomery Convalescent Hospital after a 55-year career as a registered nurse. She was a member of the California Nurses Association, and an honorary lifetime member of the St. Boniface School of Nursing Alumni Association and the St. Eugene’s parish Italian Catholic Federation.
Along with a small group of friends and local businesses, Jeannette and Frank were instrumental in the formation of the Rincon Valley Little League and Santa Rosa Babe Ruth League baseball programs.
At her request, no services were held and inurnment was private. In memoriam donations preferred to the American Cancer Society.
